Feeling nervous before speaking in public? Don’t worry, you’re not alone!

It’s completely natural to feel a little flutter in your stomach before stepping on stage… nerves mean you care!

Here are some helpful tips on how to feel calm, confident, and in control before you speak, embrace those jitters and channel them into a powerful performance:

Start by practicing deep breathing exercises to calm your mind and body. While you breathe deeply into your belly, I want you to visualize yourself confidently delivering your speech, and know that you’ve got this!

Tip #2 is to practice, practice, practice! I know I say this ALL the time – but it’s true – preparing ahead of time is key. Familiarize yourself with the content and rehearse in front of a mirror or with a trusted friend. The more you practice, the more comfortable and confident you’ll feel.

And my third tip is to reframe your mindset. Instead of worrying about potential mistakes, shift your focus to the value you’re providing to your audience. Believe in your message and the impact it can have.
